How I Got $2k of Travel Points ✈️

Hi Reader,

If you happen to follow me on Instagram, you may have seen some content from my recent trip to Death Valley National Park!

So let's talk about the credit card points game. I have always been afraid to play this game and I finally took the risk 2 years ago.

I have so much regret for not starting sooner.

On my trip to Rome in February, I had $2,000 in points saved that I was able to use. We were able to stay in a 4 Star Hotel in the heart of Rome because of this!!

So- let's cut to the details, because since then I have already collected $800 more to use on my next trip.

After a lot of research, I found the Chase Sapphire Preferred is the best travel card to start with. There are two versions, and I recommend the one with only the $95 annual fee.

And let's do some (girl) math here. Every year you can get $50 off a hotel stay, so really I look at this as a $45 annual fee.

✈️✈️✈️

If you sign up now, you get 100K in bonus points. What does this mean?

When you redeem points through Chase travel, you get a 25% bonus, so that means you'll have $1,250 to spend on travel with your sign up bonus points!

You can transfer points to flights car rentals, hotels, etc.

It's so easy to do in the portal.

❤️❤️❤️

All you have to do to receive the bonus is spend $5k on your card within 3 months. Don't worry- you can pay the card off before the billing cycle ends so you don't pay any interest. This is the way to play the game. Think of it as your debit card. Use it for all your gas, groceries, eating out, etc., and in 3 months you can easily put this amount on the card without paying interest.

Then I continue to use this card as my debit card- so whenever I go out to eat, I get 3x points on food. It really adds up quickly. I turn around and pay the card before the cycle ends so that I get all the benefits without any interest. This is how I already have $800 in points for my next trip. I used the card for all my meals in Rome and on my recent trip to Cali/Nevada.

When I originally got my card & received my sign up bonus, I was able to use all my points on a beautiful king suite in Canada so my husband & I did not even have a hotel bill for our first trip to Banff.

If you have any questions, please reply back!!

I really wish I had gotten this card sooner. It's been a game changer!
