Hey Reader, Do you know what color was really associated with St. Patrick? Because it was not green! 🙃 I know what you're thinking. Brooklyn- what does this have to do with math? Sometimes you have to think outside of the box when it comes to getting your kids excited about the area of a trapezoid okay. (Say it isn't just me lol.) I wanted to share three simple + meaningful math activities you can use in your classroom right now.. and one of them will explain why my first statement is what my kids will learn about as they practice the area of trapezoids! And guess what- if you happen to purchase one (or more) of these activities, just reply back to this email with your TPT Oder ID # and I will put you in a drawing for a TPT Gift Card!! There will be 3 winners! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 This week I am personally using the St. Patricks' Day Facts + Stats Color by Number for Area of Triangles and Trapezoids I also made an editable template- you're welcome!! Students learn facts like this as they solve math probs: -How much vegetable dye does it take to turn the Chicago River green every year? -What color was really associated with St. Patrick- it wasn't green! -What are your chances of finding a four leaf clover? P.S. You know what I really love about this activity- it's something your students have probably never seen before. I had the idea to start making these last year & my goodness my kids light up when I bring one out. Here are two other fun themed activities that take no prep on your part: Area of a Circle Digital Activity my 7th and 8th graders always love. Last but not least, I actually made this digital activity for proportional tables to mirror some test bank questions my 7th graders were struggling with last year! Don't forget to reply back to me if you purchase one of these activities! You will get put into the TPT gift card drawing! I will announce the winners in next week's weekly email. If you'd only like to receive one email per week from me, please click here! |

Hi Reader, If you happen to follow me on Instagram, you may have seen some content from my recent trip to Death Valley National Park! So let's talk about the credit card points game. I have always been afraid to play this game and I finally took the risk 2 years ago. I have so much regret for not starting sooner. On my trip to Rome in February, I had $2,000 in points saved that I was able to use. We were able to stay in a 4 Star Hotel in the heart of Rome because of this!! So- let's cut to...
Hey Reader, Are you a business teacher author by chance? Or thought about being one? I started a TPT store my first year of teaching. It was just for fun, really. Then I started my teacher Instagram for fun. One thing led to another & I now have 6 business ventures. The thing is- I am just like so many of you. I work full time in the classroom.
